This landmarked Modernist home, nestled among Cleveland Park’s historic Tudor and Queen Anne style houses, needed an update to accommodate a busy family with young children. Our challenge was to modernize the home while staying true to its original aesthetics. We reconstructed the kitchen and dining areas by relocating the laundry room to create space for a banquette, walk-in pantry, and desk area. We also removed a dumbwaiter to accommodate double ovens. Custom flat-paneled cabinetry and a large waterfall island completed the vision and paid homage to the minimalist design of the home.
Several years later, we renovated the primary bath with mid-century elements including a custom walnut vanity, soaking tub, and steam shower.
